Cloud crushing experiments across several simulation codes. Movies and interactive isosurfaces are visualizations of solver output, not raw data backups. Historical runs have differences in initial and boundary conditions and are not a validated matched comparison. Verification report and corrected analysis, 7 September 2026.

Density becomes altitude. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, right drag to pan. The wind blows left to right; the mountains are the cloud.

Terrain flyover movies

The same landscapes recorded in motion: the camera orbits while the simulation evolves.

A real 3D simulation, in your hands: nested density shells from the run itself. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, right drag to pan. The faint outer shell is shocked wind, the middle shell is the cloud surface, the solid core is the densest gas. More runs join as they finish computing.

No 3D runs harvested yet; they are computing now.

Drag to turn the cloud, scroll to zoom, and use the slider above to move through time. Everything else made from the 3D runs is a flat picture of three dimensional data: the recorded videos are in Movies and the frame sets are in Gallery, both labelled as slices.

Open the full 3D viewer ↗ Opens in a new tab: full screen, higher detail meshes, shadows, shell toggles and 60 fps playback.

Everything the simulations were actually built and run from: the problem source each code was given, the input file for every run, the run logs, and the analysis and rendering scripts. Very long logs are shown head and tail with the middle omitted.
